VAALKANNADI (2002) - AUDIO REVIEW
Music by M
Jayachandran
Lyrics by S Rameshan Nair
Total in Album - 8
Label - Manorama Music
M
Jayachandran is doing music for the 2nd movie in 2002. He did Kanmashi
earlier which was terrible. This offers something better than Kanmashi
because he used a variety of male singers (Yesudas, MG Sreekumar, Venugopal,
Jayachandran, Madhu Balakrishnan, Mani and himself). The director combo of
Anil Babu are not known for their music, but their comedy which this movie
doesn't provide.
Vaalkannadi by MG Sreekumar - The title song. One of the better title
songs, it just keeps repeating the Vaalkannadi but its one of the better
songs in the movie

Vaalkannadi |
Makkale by Jayachandran - A devotional song talking about children and
how mothers wait for their children.
Thintakatharo by Kalabhavan Mani - Another Mani song, nothing new to
offer.
Kukku
Kukku by M Jayachandran and Chinmayi - Probably the 2nd best song in the
movie. M Jayachandran proves that he can be one of the better music
director/singers. I believe that he sings better than AR Rahman.
Amme Amme
by Madhu Balakrishnan - A fast song, but the context really doesn't fit the
song.
Narayaneeyamam by Venugopal - Another devotional song. It fits
Venugopals tone and he sung it very well.
Manikuyile
by Yesudas & Sujatha - An average love song, between Mani and Geethu in the
movie. The song doesn't seem to fit Kalabhavan Mani's voice. This song is in
the cassette twice, the other one is a solo by Yesudas. |
